We are a family owned online bakery located in Northern Westchester. A mother and son team, Debbie and Matthew Mancuso have been professionally baking for a combined 26 years and are now taking their talents to your home, family to family. In 2002 Deb opened her first wholesale bakery, La Cucina Toscana, out of her home kitchen in Garrison New York. Specialzing in biscotti and Italian desserts, she took her business to local farmers markets and festivals and sold wholesale to restaurants and small businesses.
"Coming home from school, you could smell our house from the bus stop up the street; it always felt like we lived in a bakery. Our front door was always red so we liked the idea of keeping the name nostalgic and personal. "
Matthew, her youngest son, had always had a sweet tooth. He began baking with his mother before he was 10 and started working in commercial bakeries at the age of 15. After graduating from the Culinary Institute of America with a Baking & Pastry Art's degree, he went on to work in Michelin kitchens such as Per Se, Le Bernardin and Corton. In 2011 he was on the opening team for the new Bouchon Bakery, and has worked in and out of restaurants both managing and consulting for businesses alike.
This common family passion really had no other finale. Both Debbie and Matthew both say that it was only a matter of time before joining forces to really create something unique for their city.
